The unit is designed for sand drying and screening to produce sand with a grain size of not more than 3 mm.

Unit Operation

Sand is loaded into the rotary drum through the receiving hopper of the sand dryer. Blade placed inside the drum mix the sand and slows down its movement towards the screen side, thereby providing the time required for drying. During the drum rotation, heating elements are in operation with the total capacity of 9.45 kW and surface temperature to 650 °C. Separate activation of the heaters can regulate the temperature inside the drum. Lifting screws adjust the angle of the drum, and thus the movement of sand inside the dryer from the hopper to the discharge screen. Sand of mesh size not larger than 3 mm gets through a screen mesh into product container; sand of larger size and waste fall into the waste container. The sand dryer has a back drive to provide better mixing of sand. The dryer operation is controlled by the frame-mounted control cabinet. The cabinet has a standard housing type designed as all-metal and prefabricated metal frame structure; wall- or floor-mounted with a door opening to the outside (front served cabinets), with bottom cabling.

On the back of the cabinet metal wiring board is fixed with mounted circuit breakers, contactor starters and terminal blocks for connecting power and control cables.

On the cabinet door local control elements (buttons), operating mode switch of the heaters and indicator lights are located.

The drum control is performed with buttons «Forward», «Reverse», «STOP».

Forward — the drum operates discharging sand.

Reverse — rotation adjustment to increase drying time.

STOP — stop the drum rotation.

Flashing lights indicate upon selection of operation mode. Using «ТЭН1», «ТЭН 2», «ТЭН 3» switches, you can define the heating element in charge. Flashing light, located above each of the heaters, signals upon choosing one of them.
